John Hickenlooper

John Hickenlooper was born February 7, 1952 in Narbeth, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Wesleyan University with a B.A. in English and a M.S. in geology. After graduation, Hickenlooper moved to Colorado and became a geologist. Then, in 1988 he founded a brewpub in Denver, Colorado and became deeply involved in the community and economic development. In 2003, he was elected Mayor of Denver and then won re-election in 2007. In 2010, he was elected Governor of Colorado and was subsequently re-elected in 2014. In 2014, Hickenlooper served a one year term as Chair of the National Governors Association. He is married to his wife Robin and has a son from his previous marriage.

John Hickenlooper announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination on March 7, 2019.
