Kamala Harris

Kamala Harris was born in Oakland, California on October 20, 1964. She attended Howard University and gradated with a degree in political science and economics. She then completed a law degree at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. After graduation, Harris began her career as a prosecutor. In 2003, she began her tenure at the District Attorney of San Francisco. Then in 2010, Harris was elected Attorney General of California and was re-elected in 2014. In 2016, she was elected to the U.S. Senate. She currently lives in California with her husband Douglas and has two adult stepchildren.

Kamala Harris announced her candidacy for the Democratic nomination on January 21, 2019.
